LABOR-MANAGEMENT -- John A. Ostenburg retired from the Chicago Teachers Union on June 30, 2010, having held the post of Chief-of-Staff for three years. He served under three Union presidents and previously was the award-winning Editor of the Chicago Union Teacher newspaper and the Chair of the Union's Communications Department. He also spent one year as the CTU Interim Legislative Director and Chief Lobbyist. His association with the Union covered fifteen years.

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS -- John A. Ostenburg currently is serving his fourth consecutive four-year term as Mayor of Park Forest, Illinois. He previously served seven years as a Park Forest Trustee and two years as a State Representative for the 80th House District.

EDUCATION -- John A. Ostenburg has been a classroom teacher at elementary, secondary, community college, and university levels, at both public and private institutions. He was Director of University Relations at Governors State University and earlier served as Director of Communications & Community Relations and Executive Director of the College Foundation at Prairie State College. He held the posts of Director of Alumni Relations and Sports Information Director at Lewis University.

John A. Ostenburg also is an accomplished journalist who was a reporter and editor for three daily newspapers and two chains of weekly publications.
